Is it civilisation, this trajectory we have embarked upon?

It may once have been regarded thus.

Humanisation?

Probably never.

Progress?

In some things, perhaps, but not in others…

We may call it ‘democritisation’,

knowing our states are now too large for effective democracy.

Whatever we call it, the evolving Europe will end

with results its propagators least anticipated.

We are cultivating a breeding ground for tyrants.

Walking with a Smacked Pentax

Well, after nearly 7 years, 15747 comments and 426 posts I have decided that it is time I quit this blog.

This hasn’t been an easy decision to make but several factors have come about that has made my mind up.

Firstly, I no longer use Pentax cameras. I haven’t done for about 5 years. Nothing wrong with Pentaxes – they are superb, but it is just a matter of preference. As some men prefer one make of car to another, I prefered another make that I was more comfortable with. To me a camera is an extension of your soul, and you must be one with it to get the best out of it. I just didn’t feel that the Pentax was for me. So it felt wrong to mention a camera that I no longer use.
